San Diego County (CA) Trying
to Stop Home Bible Studies
SAN DIEGO -- A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold Bible studies in their home, 10News reported.
Attorney Dean Broyles of The Western Center For Law & Policy was shocked with what happened to the pastor and his wife.
Broyles said, "The county asked, 'Do you have a regular meeting in your home?' She said, 'Yes.' 'Do you say amen?' Read complete story here: http://www.10news.com/news/19562217/detail.html
What a communist that official is! What happened to the right to peaceful assembly, free speech, and religious practice? Never heard about this under the Bush administration!!!

ReplyDeleteAmerica is falling fast, We can turn this around, but, It requires seomthing from us before the healing can begin
God Bless you Pastor
This is just plain weird!
ReplyDeleteThere are countless religious groups of every imaginable kind in CA. There probably are people meeting to study scriptures of every kind in that state.
Why should it worry the local government if some people were studying the Bible? Very puzzling!
What the public deserves to know is who these people are who want to try to stop something as innocent and Constitutionally protected as Bible study. What is their agenda and why are they afraid of the Bible?
The government should be so unconcerned about a small group of people meeting to read and study the Bible that this should not even be 'on their radar.'
ReplyDeleteI once knew of a private group of Calvinists who even used a public school classroom, after school hours, to study the Bible. There is nothing wrong in that. They had permission to do so.
Freedom of religious and political belief is clearly under attack in modern 'liberal' America. :(
It is astonishing to me that Americans even allow their government to collect 'property tax' at all.
ReplyDeleteWhen citizens pay tax on their home and land, they are effectively paying 'rent money.' If their ownership of these things were absolute and secure, they could not possibly have to pay tax on them.
We pay taxes on thing we purchase and do not yet own. There is no reason to pay taxes on what is already ours.
they should just leave alone they aren't bothering anyone
ReplyDeleteTesting the waters. They want to see how far they can get and how much the people will take. "Oh it is just them, (for whatever reason), and we are not going after everyone who does bible study." they will say. Soon it will be all our churches.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if gov't officials/LEO is going to start enforcing the same policy towards birthday parties, college parties, and funeral wakes...
