Changing History!

Who Writes Your Kids’ Textbooks?
by: Shannon Bream
As the Texas textbook debate begins in earnest, odds are most American parents likely have no idea how their children's books are actually crafted. The 15 members of the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) will make key decisions about curriculum - what's in, what's out - and textbook publishers will write books to match those standards. That's because Texas is one of the largest textbook buyers in the world. (For rest of the story, click here: http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/03/09/who-writes-your-kids-textbooks

It's rather disturbing how people would rather teach history one way rather than what really happened.

Good find, Mr. Robb. I agree--children should be educated to the highest standards, and that information should come from the best possible sources. When it comes to issues of history or science, our education systems should not cave to special interests. Our children should be educated on the facts and then allowed to form their own opinions on each matter.

here is how Schools should be1) Teach Every Subject2) Teach different things (Some Schools teach the same thing from grade 1 to Graduation)3)NO EVOLUTION, Let the Parents teach Kids their Religious Beliefs, not spring one on them

As long as the teach evolution, then there's no problem. It's been proven so it should be taught.

While I agree that religion should be left in the hands of parents, I question why evolution should be left out. It's pretty well established at this point. You say "Teach Every Subject" and yet this subject should be left out?

If you want to teach children different things, I'm guessing that you want them to be taught many different theories and viewpoints on important matters so that they can then make an informed decision as to what they believe in. Surely that counts for evolution too (which incidently is not a religious belief). Surely they should be taught evolution along with all the other theories and then make up their own minds as to what merit it has. You can't just hide it from them.
