On the Bill O'Rielly show, November 9th, there was the discussion of the new Homeland Security policy to give full body scans or body pat downs to all passengers. Many people oppose this intrusive "security" measure. However, in defending the pat downs and the full body scans we were assured that only those of the same gender will view the body scans or conduct the "pat downs."
But what if the person of the same "gender" is a Sodomite? Are we suppose to feel better about that? I don't want a Sodomite running his hands up and down my legs either. Toward the end of the discussion, Kimberly Guilfoyle, a Fox News contributor stated that, in spite of the concerns, that overall it is a small sacrifice to pay in order to insure our safety. A small sacrifice? This reminds me of the words of Benjamin Franklin “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Call me a bigot, but if we are going to violate a person's constitutional protections, what don't we simply "violate" the "rights" of Muslims - they are the ones trying to kill us - not some 90-year old grandma in a wheel chair.

How about those willing to sacrifice the liberty of others to protect their own? What would Mr. Franklin have said they deserved? Your use of quotes in regard to the rights of Muslims is interesting--do you not believe they deserve them?
When will the airline industry start to complain? There are many (like me) who would rather not fly at all, than go through all nonsense this to get on a plane. What next? A "cavity" search?
Terrorists, like pedophiles or white supremacists, are a small pocket of extremists of a much broader demographic. It would be just as ignorant to attribute pedophiliac tendencies to all Christians based on a handful of headlines, or bigotry to all white people based solely on the contents of your blog as it is to attribute the radical beliefs and behaviors of terrorists of Islamic decent to all Muslims. There are not 1.2 to 1.5 billion people (a fifth of the world population) trying to kill us. If there were, your liberty and safety would no longer be elements of concern.
The fact that you even considered this an issue astounds me. I've been an enthusiastic patron of music and sporting events for years, and I have never worried about the sexuality of those conducting the routine pat-downs at these events. They're doing their job, not feeling me up to serve their own interests, and I trust that they can be professional about it. But fine, you're a homophobe, great. You can either learn to deal with fellow human beings or choose to avoid them, but to expect others to take exception of your ignorance and immature sensibilities is beyond asinine. The bottom line is that air travel is a privilege, not a right. If you wish to fly, then accept the inconveniences that come with such a luxury. If you can't handle them, find alternate means of travel.

I guess you have not been keeping up with the news. These are not routine pat downs - these pat downs are intrusive. But then maybe that is the kind you like.

Any pat down is intrusive if you consider it so. Any pat down is "routine" if it is part of a formal screening process.
